Evaluation of your Blog Experience

I think that this experience, the making of a blog, has been a very amusing one, because I believe that it’s a different form to learn english and interact with the classmates and know little things about them.

The topics that we wrote are very interesting and knowing the opinion of others about it and what they think of it is interesting. I think that it's a good way of learning english, dedicating an hour and a half to think about the topic, write about it and then, that our teacher can read it and give us feedback to acquire more writing skills. 

At first, I felt very nervous because I never had a blog before and I didn’t know how to write there, but then with time, It became very easy, specially with the different subjects that motivated me to write about things. My favorite topic was “My life in movies/books” because I like a lot movies and books.

I think that with the time I improved in my writing skills, now I write in english with more easiness and faster. I would include in the future more blog entries with different topics like music, art and culture.

TV Series

I really like watch TV series from different genres like horror, comedy and drama, but my favorite is “Orange is the new black”, because has a little about the all genres, it’s very funny but also has sad moments. My favorite character is “crazy eyes”, it’s very comical and the actresses are very good.  

In other genre, I like all of seasons of “American Horror Story” , because it’s really well made and because all the characters and the story are very well built for assembling it all go towards the end of the season. This director, Ryan Murphy, also directed Glee, that I like until the third season.

“House of cards” is very good, it shows all the political maneuvering and corruption in the government and the worst, It’s not far from reality, in different measures in relation with the country. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are very good actors and represents this character very well.  

“Friends” always was be my favorite tv series, because I think that has a lot of situations to the reality and the spectator feels reflected. Rachel is my favorite character, because she's wonderful.

Attack on Paris, what happens with Chile?

The terrorist attack in Paris did not leave anyone indifferent and now is a wake up call for all countries. What will happen now in the relations of European countries with immigrants from areas where ISIS is present? How it affects our country? Which at a first glance is far from the situation, but with the interconnectedness of today's world, it has become a situation that cannot be ignored.

In the same day of the attacks, through a statement the government of Chile, condemned the violence in France. This was the first consecuence of the attack in our country, but the reality is far more complicated, because this event will impact the economies of many countries and their welcome of refugees that are from the zones affected by ISIS and the war.

Before the attack in París, the president Michelle Bachelet said that Chile is open to the idea of receiving refugees from Siria, however with the events that transpired in France, the government decision seems to be in hold, at least. Chile has experience in receiving immigrants who flee from zones under humanitarian crisis, like the war in Irak. Mauricio Abu Gosh, who is part of the Federación Palestina in Chile, said that now the conditions to receive sirian refugees are the appropriate ones.

In the economy, is very difficult to estimate what will happen, but many believe that there will be a decline in the stock market, however its a matter of weeks in order for the situation to return to normal again, according to data provided by the online newspaper "Libero".

An Expert do you field

Javier Rebolledo is a Chilean journalist who has specialized in the investigation of issues relating to the violation of Human Rights in our country during the dictatorship, writing three books about this: “La Danza de los Cuervos”, “El Despertar de los Cuervos” and “A la Sombra de los Cuervos”. He has worked and integrated research teams in medias like Siete+7, The Clinic and La Nación Domingo. He also was the investigator and assistant director of the documentary “El mocito” directed by Marcela Said and Jean de Certeau.

I admire Javier Rebolledo, I think he is a good journalist because he researches topics that, although much time has passed, are very important for our country in order to know clearly what happened during the dictatorship,for example, the people who were involved both civilians and politicians, in the vulneration of Human Rights, accomplices that even today are not judged by the justice.

Also his investigations are conducted properly, uses different sources and his information processing is well suited, complete, and because of this his books are very satisfying and entertaining to read.

Pets from childhood

Odi was the name of the dog that I had when I was a child and he was found in my dad’s parents’ house in Viña del Mar when my mother and father were on holidays back in 1989. A puppy with other dogs ran in the street and suddenly this dog went to the house and my mother fell in love with him.

Odi lived 17 years and was the king of the house for three years until my brother was born, my father thought that the dog would be jealous but on the contrary he always protected me and my family.

He always maintained his energy even when he was old, I remember when we were on vacation with Odi and went to the beach he liked to run along all the shore.

Odi left us in 2006 because he was very sick, he is the best pet I had in all my life.

The story of a picture

The photograph was taken in the best spring camp that I’ve ever had. It was in 2008 when I started in scout, especially in the Irlanda group, that is the group of my school. In scout, I learned lots of things that I never thought to acquire and, for me, it is an exceptional place to share with other people with diverse ideas, emerges the companionship and, well, it’s an instance to be a kid again.

Well, back to the photograph, It was taken in 2013, in a place called Picarquin, 75 kilometres away from Santiago. In there, it shows our group called “Clan”, which gathers the people with more age in the group Irlanda, are the persons before to be bosses. In this camp, we use for the first time our red sweatshirt. This sweatshirt was my first project when I started in the Clan.

The photo shows our essence. We are very united and played like a kids.

My life in movies/books

I really like watching movies and reading books. When I was a child, I loved to see “Lilo & Stitch” because I like the unconditional love that Lilo has to Stitch. Then, I grew up, I started to read different books, but the most important for me was Harry Potter. With this saga, I started to know the world of literature.

I don’t think that movies can represent  moments in our lives, maybe just feelings. With “Casablanca” I remember my mother who loves this movie and I like for their music and the history.

My favorite book is “The Miserables”, because it represents a vision of the society in that time, and carries a hope to pass all the difficulties in life. The movie was made in 2012 based on the book is really good, I like the music and the interpretation of the actors.

My favorite piece of technology

My favorite piece of technology is the microwave. Before, my grandmother had to cook in the gas stove lots of hours. One day, my father bought a microwave. Now, with only a few minutes we can have delicious food and we can warm up lunch or dinner. It’s not necessary to stay a lot of time cooking, because exists a machine that can do this in a little time.

It’s true that NOT every food have a good taste after the microwave. For this, It’s important to learn use correctly, for example using a lid over the dish to avoid dry the meals

My life without the microwave I can’t imagine. It’s really useful when I have to go out fast and I haven't eaten anything, with this machine, I can eat lunch in a little time.

Expectations for this semester

For this semester, I hope learn more about my future career, journalism. I like too much and I think that is very important have a good formation. I want to know how reporting correctly and then how to write in the different journalist genre. I want to write in magazines or digital media.

In my personal life, I hope learn more about different kind of arts, a little of each, especially theater. For that, I have a list to books for reading and a workshop to learn about this art.

For other part, I want to adopt healthy habits for have a better quality of life, although I love french fries with all of my heart hehe.

Autobiography

I was born in Santiago in 1997. My mother is an actress and publicist. My father works selling computer parts. When I was born, I live in my house with my parents, my brother and my grandmother on my mom’s side. When I was four year, I started school and stayed in there until graduation.

I I like to play the guitar and sing. I used to paint with oils. I like to ride a bike in the city. I love read a books, I like novels the authors from Latinoamerican.

Currently I’m study journalism at Universidad de Chile since this year.
